Topeka is now Google?

Google has gone and tricked us all. In light of it being April Fools Day, the web-based search engine has gone and named itself ‘Google’ for the day.

But, it’s okay because for the month of March, the capital of Kansas was named Google. A few weeks ago, The Baker Orange wrote a reaction story and an editorial about the re-naming of the city.

What is the point of it all? I get that the city is hoping to be the new test site for faster internet, but to go as far as renaming the city?

Students at Baker are going to love saying that they are from ‘Google,’ Kansas, and that all of our state legislators work in ‘Google.’
